“Very deep, dense red/purple colour, with a massively oaky bouquet, loads of coffee-mocha, and some vegetal and floral high-notes. It seems overripe and over-the-top, at first. The palate is massive: very rich, dense aRand full-bodied, with ample tannins and alcohol warmth. Blackberry jam, vanilla, chocolate. A big, rich, round, gutsy shiraz with amplitude rather than elegance. So concentrated and ripe it’s almost like an essence. Very impressive, and delicious in its way. (The Malcolm’s first release was 1994, but this is the the first from the Small Town Vineyard in Ebenezer. 110 dozen made.)”
