After all these years, Magpie Estate has its very own patch of soil with some fantastic old vine Shiraz and Cabernet. We’ve purchased (with a little assistance from the bank!!) 42 acres of prime vineyard in the northern Barossa, in the sub region known as ‘Kalimna’. Blending!
Earlier this month I was over for my usual blending trip. We blended the small amount of remaining 2013’s that we felt worthy of additional time in oak. Look out for a special 20th Anniversary release of ‘The Call Bag’ Mourvedre Grenache, and maybe our best ever Black Sock Mourvedre so some special wines to come out of 2013. Here …
