The Mexican Dancer Viognier
The Viogner grapes are from the Rolf Binder estate vineyard close to the winery and the wine made by Rolf’s sister, Christa Deans.
It has some oak components that gives added texture and complexity to the wine.
Spicy on the nose with flowery aromatic notes, honeysuckle, lime and white peach.
Weighty on the palate, yet really fresh, spicy with lots of citrus and peach, flowery with good acidity. Long with integrated, subtle, nutty oak, gently creamy too which adds length and complexity to the lovely stone fruits and citrus zest.
It’s really quite fresh for Viognier, not at all oily or fat. Don’t over chill the wine, it is much more expressive if not too cold. Drink now – 2018.
